We have partnered with an industry-leading, Austin-based company in its search for a Vice President of Accounting. This individual will lead an overall team of 30+ staff, including 4 direct reports, while overseeing the accounting for multiple corporate and subsidiary entities, and serving as a key business partner throughout the company. Job duties for the VP of Accounting role will include, although not be limited to:
- Serving as a positive driver of change, including process improvements, ERP upgrades, and other key initiatives
- High-level oversight of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, along with other ad-hoc reports for C-level and Board review
- M&A support, including due diligence, accounting for transactions, and leading the accounting integration of newly-acquired entities
- Leading multiple accounting functions within a large-scale organization, including Property Accounting, Shared Services, and other areas
- Managing departmental budgets, along with budget-to-actual for other key accounts
- Monitoring and enhancing internal controls, financial systems, and SOX compliance
- Serving as a main point of contact for Big Four external auditors, along with 3rd party service providers
- Working closely with the CFO, Chief Accounting Officer, and other company Leadership, while serving as a key business partner throughout the organization
- Managing recruiting & hiring processes for the Accounting team, while overseeing staffing levels and overall departmental needs
To be considered, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting;CPA license strongly preferred
- Twelve (12) or more years of relevant and progressive Accounting experience is required
- Prior experience within public accounting (Audit) with a Big Four or National CPA firm is desirable
- At least five (5) years of managerial experience, including large team leadership with multiple direct reports
- Prior experience as a key participant during acquisition integrations, system implementations, process improvements, and change management is highly desirable
- Proven knowledge of GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley, and ERP systems is needed
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are imperative
- Proven leadership skills and abilities, along with a high-degree of professionalism are needed
The company will provide a competitive compensation package, including Base Salary, annual Bonus, Long-term Incentive (Equity compensation), in addition to strong benefits/insurance, generous PTO and company holidays, 401K matching plan, etc. The company has a hybrid / partially-remote work arrangement (2-3 days in office per week).
