Staff Accountant

Fast-growing, privately-held company in Southwest Austin is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to add to the team. This is a hybrid (majority-remote) position that will require one (1) day in the office per week. This position will report to the Accounting Manager while taking on increasing levels of responsibility within an expanding CPG company with a track record of success. This is a great opportunity for a motivated Accountant with 2+ years of experience to gain valuable experience working for a dynamic, fast-paced company.

Job duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Performing account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Accurate recording of journal entries
  • Assistance with month-end and quarter-end close processes
  • Oversight of Accounts Payable, including review of invoices, accuracy of data within ERP system, and payment processing
  • Inventory accounting, including performing physical inventory counts, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Expense account oversight, including G&A, Cost/Production, Labor/Payroll, etc.
  • Assisting with project-related accounting, including oversight of timesheets, billing accuracy, and preparation of ad-hoc financial reports
  • Special projects on an as-needed basis

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (with significant Accounting coursework) is highly preferred
  • At least two (2) full year of accounting experience within a corporate environment
  • Advanced Proficiency in MS Office Suite (especially MS Excel) required
  • Previous experience utilizing an Accounting ERP system such as MS Dynamics, Great Plains, Oracle, etc. is preferred
  • Prior exposure to relevant accounting items such as Inventory, Accounts Payable, and Expense reporting is desirable
  • Team player mentality, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
