Senior Accountant

Established professional services firm is seeking a Senior Accountant for a role that will perform hands-on accounting duties for multiple Ultra-High Net Worth clients ($100mm and above). The firm provides a suite of services for Ultra-High Net Worth individuals and families, including Personal Financial Statement preparation, Family and Household accounting, Expense oversight, Taxation, Wealth Transfer planning, Philanthropy management, and Lifestyle services. This individual will serve as a key member of a growing team, while reporting to the Assistant Controller and mentoring junior staff. This is a great opportunity for a bright, driven Accounting professional with 3+ years of experience to join a reputable, high-caliber team in a key position.

Job duties will include, although not be limited to:

  • Performing hands-on accounting duties, including journal entries, key account reconciliations, and accruals for Ultra-High Net Worth client base
  • Assistance with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual personal/household financial statements for numerous clients
  • Participating in the accounting consolidation of various client entities, including partnerships, small businesses, investments, trust accounts, foundations, etc.
  • Monitoring client banking and expense accounts on a daily/weekly/monthly basis, and investigating large or unusual transactions, while performing expense analysis
  • Assistance with preparation of monthly cash flow statements and liquidity reporting for clients, along with Statements of Net Worth on an as-needed basis
  • Oversight of client A/P and bill payment services, along with Receivables and deposits, while also monitoring loans, lines of credit, etc.
  • Processing client Payroll for household employees and other personal staff
  • Interfacing on a regular basis with internal teams, including Tax, Wealth Transfer, and Philanthropy management, along with client representatives such as bankers, attorneys, investment managers and other key advisors

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Three or more (3+) years of progressive Accounting or Audit experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting is required
  • CPA license or active CPA candidates are strongly-preferred
  • Public accounting experience is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented mentality
  • Advanced-level Excel skills, along with GAAP knowledge
  • The ability and desire to take on progressively challenging job duties, while promoting within the firm.
