We have partnered with an expanding, global e-Commerce company in its search for a Revenue Accounting Manager. This individual will serve as a hands-on leader of the Revenue Accounting & Operations function within a mid-sized, PE-backed company, while managing a team and reporting to the Controller. This newly-created position will have a high-degree of exposure to Senior Leadership, while providing the ability to make a positive, tangible impact on the growth and success of the company.
Please note that this is a fully-remote position, and candidates should reside in one of the following states to be eligible for employment: AZ, TX, CO, UT, FL, NC, NY, TN, MN, GA, NJ, MI, PA, ID, LA, WI, and VA
Job duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Hands-on oversight of monthly and quarterly close processes for all Revenue-related accounts
- Leading revenue cycle diligence and integration initiatives for newly acquired entities
- Reviewing customer contracts, transactions, journal entries and GAAP financials in order to ensure compliance with ASC 606
- Preparation and review of account reconciliations and journal entries for all revenue-based accounts, including large volumes of transactions
- Serving as a key point-of-contact with external Auditors for the company’s Revenue accounting & reporting function
- Managing the Revenue Operations function, including Billing, A/R, and Collections team, along with Revenue Accounting integrations
- Overseeing the company’s Sales and Use Tax compliance
- Hiring, training, and mentoring an overall team of 7-8 people, including 3 direct reports
To be considered, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting (or related field, with sufficient Accounting hours) is required
- At least five (5) years of Accounting experience, including significant focus on Revenue accounting & operations
- Certified Public Accountant license (or active CPA candidate) is highly-desirable
- Prior experience within the e-Commerce industry (or related sector) is strongly preferred
- Previous background in public accounting (Big 4 or National CPA firm) is a plus
- Strong systems skills, including an ERP (i.e. Oracle, Netsuite, Sage Intacct) etc., along with other tools such as Salesforce, Bill.com, etc.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and ASC 606
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated team leadership experience
