We are assisting an established, fast-paced SaaS company in its search for an Accounting Manager. This position will be fully-remote, but candidates should reside in Austin, Texas. The Accounting Manager will supervise a small team of staff while helping to scale and strengthen the accounting function for a PE-backed technology company. Reporting to the VP/Corporate Controller, this individual will lead core accounting operations, support M&A integrations, drive system implementations, and ensure financial compliance within a dynamic, growth-oriented business environment. Job duties will include the following:
- Leading core accounting operations, including general ledger, treasury, accounts payable, financial statement variance analysis and ad-hoc projects.
- Overseeing monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in accordance with US GAAP, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Managing revenue recognition for subscription services in compliance with ASC 606.
- Supporting M&A activity, including accounting due diligence, purchase accounting, and post-acquisition integration.
- Driving the implementation and optimization of ERP and financial systems, with a primary focus on NetSuite.
- Managing and mentoring Accounting team members, fostering proactive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Working closely with the external Audit firm while facilitating the annual audit process.
- Ensuring accurate and compliant tax reporting, in coordination with external tax/CPA firm
- Collaborating with cross-functional partners in FP&A, Legal, and Operations to support financial and operational reporting, along with strategic planning.
To be considered, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field (with sufficient Accounting coursework/hours). CPA is preferred but not required.
- Six or more (6+) years of progressive accounting experience. Previous corporate/industry accounting experience is required. Public accounting (audit) experience is a plus, although not required.
- At least two (2+) years in a PE-backed SaaS environment is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency utilizing an accounting ERP system is needed (Netsuite is desirable).
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
- Proven background with system implementations, ERP optimization, and process automation.
- Hands-on experience with M&A integrations, including post-acquisition accounting and financial consolidation is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership capabilities, with experience managing and developing high-performing accounting teams.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are needed, with the ability to interface effectively across all levels of an organization.
- Highly organized and capable of prioritizing multiple responsibilities, with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
