Accounting Manager (CPG / eCommerce)

We have partnered with a privately-held Consumer Products company in its search for an Accounting Manager.  This individual will serve as a key member of a small but growing team, while overseeing multiple Staff Accountants and reporting to the Controller. The company is seeking a degreed Accounting professional with 6+ years of experience, prior exposure to Inventory and Cost Analysis, team leadership experience, and previous experience utilizing an ERP system such as Netsuite. This position will allow for continual professional growth and development within a fast-paced, dynamic organization.

Specific job duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Participation and review of month-end close processes, including account reconciliations, journal entries, fixed assets, review of A/P and A/R, and monitoring bank accounts.
  • Hands-on accounting and reporting for Inventory, along with Product Costing and Margin analysis.
  • Assisting the Controller with financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP.
  • Managing a small team of Staff Accountants, while effectively serving as a trainer, coach, reviewer, supervisor, and mentor.
  • Oversight of corporate expense accounts, while monitoring credit card statements and employee reimbursements.
  • Supporting both internal and external Auditors by responding to requests for documentation, supporting schedules, explanations, and other information.
  • Working closely with Finance and Operations team members in order to optimize processes, reduce costs, refine forecasts, and increase profitability.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as-needed, including system upgrades, ad-hoc reporting and analysis, process improvements, M&A support, and other special projects as assigned by the CFO and Controller.

To be considered, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
  • At least six (6+) years of progressive Accounting experience, including full-cycle month-end close processes and General Ledger oversight.
  • Previous experience with Inventory and Cost Accounting is needed.
  • A background within an industry such as CPG, Manufacturing/Production, Distribution, Medical Devices, etc. is highly desirable.
  • Prior usage of an ERP system such as Netsuite, SAP, Sage, Great Plains, etc. is required.
  • Previous experience managing a small team, or serving in a supervisory or team leadership role is highly desirable.
  • Advanced-level Microsoft Excel skills are needed, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and formulas.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive and proactive demeanor.
