We have partnered with a mid-sized, global Technology company based in Austin, TX in its search for a Revenue Accounting Manager. Reporting to the Controller while managing a small Revenue team, this individual will serve as a hands-on leader for Accounting, Reporting, & Analysis within the SaaS Revenue Cycle. This position will allow for a high-degree of exposure to Executives, along with plenty of career growth opportunities within a fast-growing, private company with a market-leading Software platform, along with complementary hardware products.
Job duties will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Actively participating in month-end and quarter-end close processes for Revenue accounts, while reviewing the work of staff.
- Overseeing monthly reconciliations of Revenue, Deferred Revenue, and A/R accounts.
- Partnering with the Controller during preparation Revenue-related sections of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
- Supporting M&A activity, while performing Revenue cycle diligence and integration initiatives for newly-acquired entities.
- Managing a small team, including Revenue Accountants, Billing, and Accounts Receivable staff.
- Working closely with external Auditors on technical GAAP reporting & compliance items related to the Revenue cycle, including ASC 606.
- Serving as a key participant during systems implementations and process improvements within a global business environment.
- Review of Sales agreements, customer orders, and other Revenue contracts to ensure proper recognition in accordance with GAAP.
- Performing technical analysis and creating white papers citing guidance for complex deals.
- Interfacing effectively on a regular basis with key members of the Sales, Finance, Legal, & Operations teams.
Qualifications & Other Requirements:
To be considered, candidates should have five or more (5+) years of experience, along with a Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in Accounting or related field. Proven expertise related to ASC 606 revenue recognition guidance is needed, along with significant SaaS industry exposure. CPA is preferred, but not required. Prior utilization of an ERP system such as Netsuite, Oracle, Sage Intacct, etc. is needed, along with previous supervisory experience. This individual should have strong communication skills and team leadership abilities, along with the desire to make a positive impact within a fast-paced, global company.
