We have partnered with an Austin-based, industry leading SaaS company in its search for a Senior Accountant. This individual will serve as a key player within a high-caliber Accounting & Finance team, while performing a broad range of job duties and taking on increasing levels of responsibility. This is a great opportunity for a motivated Accounting professional with 2-to-4 years of public accounting (Audit) experience to join a dynamic, global Technology company in a “growth position”.
Please Note: This position will be fully-remote, but candidates should reside in the Austin, Texas metro area. There will be occasional team meet-ups and other gatherings that require an Austin-based Accounting & Finance team.
The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for the following job duties, including (but not limited to):
- Monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis
- Assistance with the preparation of GAAP-based financial statements, along with reporting packages for Private Equity ownership
- Hands-on ownership of G/L accounting functions for multiple entities, including Cash and other Balance Sheet accounts
- Assistance with technical accounting items such as ASC 842 (Leases), ASC 606 (Revenue) and Foreign Currency transactions
- Oversight of payments for Sales & Use and State & Local Taxes, along with related Tax compliance items
- Working closely with Big 4 external Auditors during the annual external audit
- Additional duties such as partnering with FP&A on Finance items, i.e. Cash Forecasting, Budgeting, corporate Expense oversight, and M&A integrations
- Serving as a key player during process improvements, SOX compliance, and ERP upgrades.
To be considered, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Between two and five (2-to-5) years of experience, including public accounting / Audit. Big Four or national CPA firm experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting is required. CPA or CPA candidate is highly desirable.
- Prior experience auditing Technology clients (or working in corporate accounting within the Tech sector) is preferred.
- Solid understanding of GAAP, including exposure to technical accounting items such as ASC 842, ASC 606, Sarbanes-Oxley, foreign currency translation, etc.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are needed, with a team-focused mentality.
- Strong Excel skills, with a high degree of systems acumen, including the ability to learn a new ERP system quickly, along with other financial tools.
- The desire and ability to make a positive impact in a broad, hands-on position, while taking on increasing levels of responsibility.
